This Will Make You Have a Healthier and More Productive Career and Life

meditationFind awe in your life

After my short time at IBM I listed the biggest Pros and Cons of working there and I think money was number 5 on the list. Now, I worked hard to get that job and I called IBM partners in the Montreal area and asked them out for coffee, until I eventually landed a position at Big Blue. Teaching clients about the cognitive computing power of the super computer Watson, taking digital technology courses and other factors were more positive aspects than money.  Since then I have left IBM and landed a once in a lifetime opportunity as IT Project Manager to install and integrate Witron’s world leading-edge logistics technology in a 16 billion dollar leading food and pharmaceutical retailer.

My point here is that my career has always been a slow upward trend, with plenty of bumps along the way, including infuriating bosses, overwhelming stress and months of continuous travel. There are 5 key factors outside of my career that have helped with this trend. They are all small continuous changes I’ve incorporated in my life.

High quality social connections are really good for us

Here is a link that over 21 million people have watched. What keeps us happy and healthy as we go through life?

What does freedom look like to you? Less crap and more Freedom

This video is my favorite on this subject. I cannot write about it and do it justice. Sell your crap. Pay your debt. Do what you love.

Exercise has literally saved my life

I have eliminated all my back pain, sleep better, reduced stress dramatically, eat healthier, wake up earlier and am much happier.

Meditation is now a Billion dollar business

I try to meditate for at least 15 minutes a day. I cannot just sit there quietly. I use guided meditations I have found through YouTube and have bought them on ITunes so I always have them with me.

Guided Meditation for Detachment From Over-Thinking

Mindfulness Meditation – Guided 10 Minutes

GUIDED MEDITATION: Total Body Relaxation Talk-Through

My favorite book on The Science and Philosophy of mediation and Enlightenment is

Why Buddhism is True: The Science and Philosophy of Meditation and Enlightenment

I’ve made friends with Vegetables

I’ve basically cut out all processed foods. I love French fries and ketchup, but have learnt to eat 2 servings of vegetables instead.  Every time I eat something it’s an investment in my life. Either I shorten it or lengthen it with each bite. It’s that simple.
